What animals are effected?

All animals involved in agriculture and aquaculture are covered by this system.

However currently if you have a barn cat or a dog, you won't need to register them, yet....

This is a list of animal species from NAIS Technical Supplement 072605

Catfish

Mussels

Oysters

Salmon

Striped Bass

Shrimp

Scallops

Tilapia

Trout

Bovine - Bison and Cattle

Camelid - Alpaca and Llama

Caprine - Goats

Equine - Horses

Ovine - Sheep

Porcine - Swine

Poultry - Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Guineas, Pigeons, Pheasants, Quail, Turkeys

Currently Rabbits and Ratites - Emu, Ostrich, Rhea - are not listed, but NAIS's own fact sheet states that eventually all animals that could benefit from national tracking will be covered.
